Proof Celebrates 10 Years

As we celebrate our 10th anniversary, I am deeply grateful for the amazing journey we've experienced alongside our customers, employees, and partners. This milestone stands as a testament to our shared commitment to Proof's mission to simplify and secure life’s most important moments.

Over the past decade, we’ve grown, learned, and evolved, but one thing has remained constant: our commitment to the people who make our work meaningful. 

We launched Notarize in 2015 to redefine notarization – to replace an outdated and inconvenient experience, with something more secure than what was possible on paper. By defining the online notarization category, we didn’t just improve an old process; we reimagined it for the digital age. Our journey has been marked by many firsts: the first fully online mortgage closing, the first digitally signed will, and countless transactions brought online for the first time with Proof. We’ve since served millions of customers, and I’m so grateful to everyone who’s believed in me and in our team.

As our customers looked to us to deliver trust across all transactions, we delivered. In 2023, we rebranded as Proof to reflect that evolution. At our core, we’ve always been more than a notarization company. We’ve always been in the business of trust.

We owe this milestone to the relationships that have fueled our progress, the challenges that have made us stronger, and the shared successes that have propelled our mission forward.

• To the many policymakers and industry partners – Our work would not be possible without you. From advancing innovative notarization policies in 45 states, to driving industry-wide change, your support has helped make trust in digital transactions a reality. You’ve advocated for modern use of technology to make services more accessible and secure to everyone in the US.
• And, finally to our team of employees – I set out to build a company that empowers you to do the best work of your careers. Your creativity and determination define who we are, and your spirit drives our values forward every day. 

I look back at the last ten years and could not be more proud of everything we’ve accomplished. In 2024 alone, our top 20 customers grew on average more than 80% and real estate business grew by 44% YoY.

And yet, we’re still at the beginning of this journey. The need for trust in every transaction has never been more critical.  With a supercharged race to build and implement AI in every facet of life, it’s threatening the integrity of nearly every system our society relies on. We're building an identity authorization network that establishes trust across the customer lifecycle.
