Looking Ahead: What’s Coming for Notaries Using Proof

Every year on November 7, we celebrate National Notary Public Day. It is a moment to recognize the essential work notaries do to uphold trust in everyday life. Whether you work with signers every day or just a few times a month, your role makes transactions possible. You confirm identity, prevent fraud, and help people complete some of the most important milestones in their lives.

At Proof, we believe notaries deserve tools and opportunities that match the importance of that work. Over the next few months, we will be releasing improvements designed to give notaries more visibility, more financial flexibility, and a clearer sense of connection to the broader notary network. These updates are built from direct feedback: what helps, what gets in the way, and what would make a meaningful difference in your daily experience.

So our belated National Notary Public Day gift to you is an early look at what is coming next!

Notary Opportunity Alerts That Fit Your Schedule

Many notaries have shared a similar experience. Opportunities come in, but the timing is unpredictable. Alerts may get missed. And if you have another job or varied availability, it can feel difficult to consistently pick up sessions even when you want to.

Soon, notaries will be able to choose how and when they receive notifications for new opportunities. Instead of a single channel or fixed cadence, you will set your own preferences. You will be able to opt into email or SMS, and select the days and times when you want to be notified. This allows you to participate on your terms while still being connected to available signers who need support.

Our goal is to make opportunities easier to see and easier to act on. By giving notaries more control over alert timing and delivery, we want to make engagement more sustainable, especially for those balancing notary work with other professional or personal responsibilities.

A New Homepage Experience Built for Real Daily Use

If you notarize online today, you likely land on a page that provides basic information but does not fully reflect the day-to-day work you do. We are redesigning that experience to create a true home base for notaries on Proof.

The new homepage will surface the information you need most as soon as you sign in. Recent meetings, panels you belong to, your standing and progress, action items that need attention, your payout status, and training or resources relevant to your goals will all be available without having to navigate multiple menus.

The goal is clarity. When you log in, you should immediately understand what needs your attention and where to go next. You should not have to search or memorize. Whether you are joining the Notarize Network, preparing for an upcoming meeting, or looking to expand your skills, the essentials will be front and center.

This redesign is also the foundation for ongoing improvements. A more intuitive starting point means we can continue to build a more cohesive and supportive working environment for notaries over time.

Instant Payouts Through Visa Direct

Speed matters, especially when notary income supports your household, your business, or your personal goals. Waiting several days for payouts can create unnecessary delays. Soon, eligible notaries will be able to receive available earnings instantly to an eligible Visa debit card.

When funds are available, you will have the option to transfer them within minutes. This provides more predictability in planning and greater control over your finances. The rollout will begin with a minimum balance requirement and an initial focus on supporting instant transfers through Visa Direct. Additional guidance on card eligibility, availability, and payout timing will be shared as the feature becomes available.

The intent is straightforward. When you complete work, you should have faster access to your earnings.

A Stronger Community and Support Network

Notaries have consistently asked for a place to connect with one another. Not for marketing or promotional content, but for real discussion: what works, what to do in unusual scenarios, how to manage rare document types, how to structure your schedule, what to expect on day one, and how to grow your capabilities as demand increases.

To support this, we are creating a community discussion space where notaries using Proof can connect directly. It will be a place to share best practices, ask questions, learn from peers, and contribute to the collective knowledge of the network. The notary community on Proof is one of its strongest assets. Formalizing that space will make it easier to learn, grow, and support each other as the profession continues to evolve.

More details about how to join will be shared soon.

What Holds It All Together

None of these updates are about adding complexity or making notary work more difficult. The focus is on clarity, flexibility, and recognition of the expertise notaries bring to the work. Every improvement shares the same objective: support the professionals who support trust.

These features will begin rolling out in phases over the coming months, with support materials and guidance available along the way. If you are new to online notarization or considering expanding your work on the platform, you can learn more about how to notarize with Proof here.

Whether you have completed five online notarizations or five thousand, your work matters. You help people complete meaningful moments in their lives. We are grateful for your expertise and your professionalism, and we are looking forward to what we will build together next.
