Yes. Vermont has an established remote online notarization (RON) framework. Vermont notaries can perform online notarizations pursuant to 26 V.S.A. § 5379.

RON’s appeal lies in flexibility! A Vermont online notary must be physically located in Vermont at the time of executing the RON, but can execute a notarial act for a signer located in any state, or abroad if the document is intended for use with US–related matters and is not prohibited where the signer is located. A signer located in Vermont can complete a transaction with a notary located in any other state that commissions RON notaries.

Documents properly executed by a RON notary commissioned by any state are valid in Vermont under the concept of interstate recognition. Vermont’s interstate recognition statute is 26 V.S.A. § 5374.
