The End of Re-Verification: Inside Proof’s Identity Authorization Network

A customer you verified last month comes back for a second transaction, and you ask for their driver's license again. Not out of any doubt about them, but because the result of the first check cannot be used by the system handling the second. Customers abandon repeat verification at high rates, and underneath that sits the data problem: every verification you store so it might be reused becomes PII your security team has to defend for as long as you keep it.

• Verification results do not travel between systems by default, which is why siloed architectures re-verify the same person indefinitely.
• A verifiable credential proves an identity claim cryptographically without transferring the underlying PII, which removes the stored-data liability rather than relocating it.
• Open standards such as OID4VP are what will let a verified identity be accepted across organizations, beyond the systems inside one company.
