Proof at Money20/20 · Invitation
Bigger than the buy button
When an agent commits in your customer's name, almost none of it is a checkout, and nobody can yet prove who authorized any of it.
The evening

The shape of the session
Four questions, and a fifth nobody expects.
01
Who is behind this?
Knowing which agent sent the request is not the same as knowing whose it is. The software has a name and a reputation. The person may have neither, as far as your systems are concerned.
02
Did they actually approve this?
An agent can hold perfectly valid credentials to an account and still be doing something its owner never sanctioned. Access is not permission.
03
What did they hand you?
The agentic equivalent of a signature has to travel with the request: who approved it, what they approved, the terms and the limits. You should be able to check it on arrival and keep it afterward.
04
And when it goes wrong?
Evidence alone leaves everyone holding a file with no shared rule for what happens next. Payments has decades of rules about who verifies what and where the loss lands. Insurance applications, loans, prescriptions and beneficiary changes do not.
The fifth one
Who checks the business on the other end?
An agent can follow its owner's instructions flawlessly and still be talking to a fake invoice or an impersonated lender.
